Really glad this has started. Unfortunately I cannot make Thursdays but would still be interested in other events/following your progress.

      Hi Ian
We will hopefully develop a few more sessions as it has been mentioned by several people that they cannot make a Thursday. Keep checking back and keep in touch.
      See you soon

    Chris,

Thought tonight’s run was superb. There was a great buzz and people happy to either push each other on or hang back. Plus I’ve discovered yet another route around Lymm. Can’t come out this Sunday but I’m really looking forward to doing my long weekend runs with other people.

Thanks for your hard work and enthusiasm.

    Hiya,

Couldn’t make last Tues and Thurs as was in the Lake District (which was great but really missed the runs!!!) and so really fancy running 2moz (Sunday 11th) but did everyone run at quite a quick pace or would I be ok do you think? are you doing another 8 miler or you going a bit further 2moz?

    Cheers Chris!

P.s… Vote green and Black fellow runners!!!

      Hey Tasha
If you are comfortable with 8miles, you should be OK. The idea of the long run is to run slower and stay within you aerobic capacity, this builds endurance amongst other benefits.
Have a look at the route on the Schedule page. Hopefully see you at 8am, there should be a decent handful.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for that. Unfortunately the desire to lie in once more before returning to work after Easter was too great!… and now I regret it, really fancy a long run! Never mind, will be there Tuesday, Thursday and will go for it next Sunday!

    Tasha.

Running hugh legh 10k today has inspired me to come along…I’ve never tried running with a club before. I will try to make it on Thursday – kids and work depending! I run about 10 minute miles – so which group would be best (did 10k today in 57min 40).

    • 12/04/2010 at 07:36 | #13

Well done at High legh yesterday, it was a lovely day to be out round the lanes. The great thing with having different groups is that you can join a faster/slower group depending on how you feel on the night, sometimes you fancy a plod and other nights you want to go faster. You would manage with the A group but will leave that up to you, you will soon get to know other members and how it all works. Look forward to seeing you this week.
      Regards
      Chris

    Hi,

I saw your sign on the trail and would be interested in joining you on the Tues/Thurs runs. I am a complete beginner and not very fit – do you think I would be ok?

      Hi Emily
Glad those posters are still working! We have had two groups on a Thursday evening so far so you can aim for that night to begin with, the B group has been doing 3-4 miles as quick as the slowest person. We really want to promote an open policy where anyone can join us and develop their fitness and running skills. Hopefully see you then.
      Regards
      Chris

    Hi Lymm Runners

A friend of mine ran the High Legh 10K in 58 mins last year, she joined Sweatshop running group and has really upped her game by…

Copied off a facebook group ‘Run like you mean it’..

4 runs a week, feel free to come along

    Tuesday – Sweatshop Arndale -7pm (3 – 5 miles)

Wednesday – Speed or hill session

    Friday – Tempo run (4 – 6 miles)

    Sunday -Long run (9 – 14 miles)

This year she went sub 50 (mind she is 20 years younger than me) but just so nice to see people progress so much, she has ran NY too! I struggle with more than three runs per week though.

I’m a plodder really, usually I’m the sub 60 pacer at High Legh 10K which I just about manage with a red face at the end. This year I was last runner Marshal as the usual last runner marshal fancied a swop. I also help promote the event by dragging people from realbuzz.com mainly, from all over the country, they come back year on year now and also enjoy a social curry post race, before they head back home, some as far as Surrey, Southampton even Scotland.

A few years back I joined Sale Harriers as my daughter joined but the novelty with her soon wore off, and the distance was a pain so I gave up. I run with a few local friends mornings at the moment if my achilles allow. I often see solo runners and often felt that Lymm needs a running club catering for all abilities as very few cater for beginners. Lymm Runners will be a huge success once word get’s out. I did know about the group but heard you were all very quick which put me off. Nice to read you are aiming at all abilities, I’ll cetainly spread the word.

I can’t make Thursday’s either but hope to pop along with a few friends in the not too distant future.

Can you create a facebook group, almost everyone’s on facebook.

Green & Black had my vote until I spotted yellow, it’s one of my favourite colours, goes lovely with black and is Hi-Vis.

Sorry for the waffle, happy running all and wishing you every success for Lymm Runners Club :)

    Hello,

I just did a search on Lymm Running clubs and this came up – sounds great and just what I am looking for. I am moving to Lymm, from Wiltshire, at the beginning of May and am keen to join.

I did the Bath half last year but have to admit to loosing touch a little and the motivation of a club is just what I need! Do I just turn up? Think I would like to join Group B to begin with.

Look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting everyone soon!
