Super Sunday

What a day it’s been. I can hardly keep up! Where do I start?

The SLR had a a crackin run apparently, Wee Julie enjoyed the natter. This came in from Run leader Jeff:
Nice run this morning with 5 dedicated folks.
Chris, I warned you I have no sense of direction and you should make the route easy.  Despite it being in the shape of a square, we managed to miss the first left turn and ended with 10 miles instead of 8.7 miles.  Please next time make it a circle!
Enjoyed the conversation and the chance to get out.  Thanks to all.

Manchester had a great atmosphere today, we seemed to have about 10 LR peeps out of the 36,000 who took part in the 10k. Various mail has come in:

Wendy: Wanted sub 56, was on target but struggled at 7K, Lynsey Sutton 55:44 and Rachael Murphy 55:45 – both held the pace and got fab times I’m very envious of, myself, exactly the same as last year, slowed at 7k (Even walked), need to overcome this pain barrier but how?. Still, about a minute quicker on last year at 57:33 brill atmosphere! Well done on a great run, 42 is awesome! Martin Holohan got a PB at 45:28, Ian Webb 49:03, Dawn Richardson 1:02:29, Amber Webb not accurate but just over the hour I think. See you Tuesday – I want to be fitter! Wendy Kearsley

Helen J: Hi chris, hope you had fun at the Manchester run! I think I found your time – well run!  I have my official time which was 48.11. See you next Thursday I expect! Helen x

Tash: Hi all

Did 10k in just under an hour- 59 mins I think… not a pb but I really pushed myself so feel pleased with completing in under an hour!… Photos to follow- especially good as Lymm runners is now famous- managed to grab a pic with the legend Colin Jackson in the lymm runners vest… most excellant!!! See you all Tues x

Well done everyone, from my point of view, the best part of the day……….. starting in club colours! Priceless.

Also racing today was Paul at the Chester Marathon. He emailed saying:
Did you have a successful 10km race in Manchester. How did our runners get on?
I ran the Chester half today. Conditions were fairly good. Finished in 1hr 24 which was fairly ok. Provisional results indicated that I came 53rd out of 3000 runners and 10th for my age cat. I was looking at a 1hr 23. So more training is needed. Hopefully see you on Tuesday evening. If need be I will work on some speed training with group A.

A day  brilliant for us all. Bring on the rest of the year.
See you all soon
Chris
